
The Hayesville Town Council received word Monday of a “very clean audit again.” It also set a public hearing for an application to rezone acreage on the Highway 64 bypass from residential to commercial.
Terry McDonald of Turner & Co. CPAs in Murphy noted the town’s fund balance has increased more than $11,000, tax collection amounts outstanding have dropped considerably from last year and the town has acquired a grant to resurrect the old Butcher Shop.
