Opioids, meth, alcohol and more. People are living with those addictions here in Clay County and every county surrounding us. Wanting to make more of a difference in their lives, Stacie Ledford recently attended training to become a certified Peer Support Specialist.
“A Peer Support Specialist is a person who has walked the path of recovery from substance use sisorder and or mental illness and can assist others in their journeys of recovery,” Ledford explained. “Peers promote hope through positive self disclosure demonstrating that recovery is possible.”
