
“Winter Storm Benji was about a $600,000 storm for us,” said Blue Ridge Mountain EMC General Manager Jeremy Nelms during Tuesday’s board of directors’ meeting. Nelms had said earlier that Benji caused the highest number of device outages of any storm EMC had experienced. More than 30,000 customers were impacted and 18,000 were without power at the storm’s peak.
Frigid temperatures have also resulted in high energy sales for Blue Ridge Mountain EMC.
