New African American exhibit makes local history

For some people, what happened in Clay County on Saturday afternoon, May 27, was a historic event. As more than 100 people gathered to celebrate the dedication of a new African-American exhibit in Hayesville’s Old Jail Museum, the great-grandchildren of former slaves stood side by side with the people who made the exhibit happen.
