
The Hayesville Town Council awarded gifts to local non-profits at its regular meeting Monday, recognizing with a cash award each group’s contributions and efforts toward improving the town and its organizations.
“It’s a fantastic overlapping of all these organizations,” said Mayor Harry Baughn as he awarded the checks. “Arts in the schools, the library as a foundation in the learning blocks, what the Historical and Arts Council does, the CCCRA’s overall high level efforts in Clay County… I don’t know of many other places that have the number of programs and efforts that we do.”
