The Clay County Health Department has begun offering the flu vaccine this year. We have the quadrivalent vaccine available which is designed to provide protection against all four known strains of influenza. We will also have the Fluzone High Dose available for people age 65 and up which is designed to provide longer lasting coverage.
Flu vaccine is covered by Medicare and Medicaid and Clay County Health Department is able to bill most major insurances.
This year’s vaccine is believed to be effective against seasonal influenza and H1N1.
Clay County Health Department will be offering flu vaccine for each age group that will provide the best optimal protection.
