Two Hayesville residents were treated and released from local hospitals after a collision on Highway 69 between a large water transport truck and a small SUV.
The accident occurred at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Wesley Adam Shook, 29, was driving a 2006 Isuzu truck traveling north on 69 when the vehicle in front of him, a 2002 Kia, driven by Kathy Diane Russell, 61, stopped to make a left turn.
According to a report submitted to the N.C. Highway Patrol by Trooper Hal Robertson, the truck could not get stopped in time and both vehicles veered to avoid the accident, but still collided on the shoulder of the road.
Shook, who was hauling water in containers for Indian Hills Spring Water, overturned before coming to a rest, the report said.
Indian Hills plant manager, Michael Ringenberg said the truck rolled three times and the seatbelt broke, sending Shook into the windshield.
