Come celebrate our country’s birthday as Caribbean Cowboys perform for the Friday night concert series in Hayesville on the square Friday, July 5 sponsored by Sonja Silvers Realty Group and produced by Clay County Community Revitalization Association. There will be food, beer and wine for purchase from Hayesville Brewing Company starting at 6 p.m. along with the American Legion selling hot dogs, popcorn and other refreshments. Please remember that you are not allowed by North Carolina law to bring alcohol on to the square as you must have a license to do so. The music will begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m. There is no charge for entrance to the concert, however we do pass the red bucket for donations to help pay for the cost of the bands.
The Caribbean Cowboys Band has been entertaining audiences for more than 25 years. They play primarily in western North Carolina but have traveled throughout the southeast, from Key West, Fla. to New York City and throughout the Virgin Islands. As they did last year, the band will be playing two different sets with costume changes included to “set the mood” for a great evening of outstanding music.
The Caribbean Cowboys Band will provide you with a wide variety of music from Jimmy Buffett to other troubadours such as Peter Mayer, Scott Kirby, Jesse Winchester, Fingers Taylor and the best of classic, southern and trop rock, rhythm and blues, beach tunes and last but not least a few classics such as Frank Sinatra and an awesome Elvis tribute along with Caribbean Cowboys favorites. Their original tunes bring you an island-sound consisting of reggae, calypso and good old rock ‘n roll.
During the evening you will hear patriotic songs to celebrate the birthday of our country as well as a salute to the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock, from artists such as Santana, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Blood Sweat & Tears, CSNY, Sha-Na-Na & Jimi Hendrix, Sly & The Family Stone with interesting facts and stories about the most important musical event in history.
Even though it was long ago, they can take you back to that era.
In addition to the red buckets, concerts are sponsored by private individuals, area businesses and organizations. As you support these local businesses, please thank them for the gift they helped in order for this event to be a success. The Historic Hayesville Inc. shuttle service will be available beginning at 6:15 p.m. to concert goers at designated parking areas close to the square during the concerts and will make return trips after the concert has concluded. Watch for red shuttle signs as to where to park and catch a free ride to the square.
If the weather should turn bad, the concert will move indoors to the Historic Clay County Courthouse at The Beal Center.
In the event that this does happen, we ask that you leave your lawn chairs in the car and come up to the courtroom and enjoy the show. If the concert is moved inside due to rain, no pets are allowed inside the courthouse.
