Food bank receives big boost

On Tuesday, May 10 the staff of John C. Campbell Folk School and Empty Bowls volunteers presented a check for $3,188 to Fred Sickel, president of Clay County Food Bank. The food bank provides food for more than 1,200 families each month, 30 percent who are children. Presenting the check is Folk School Director, Jan Davidson and Sickel. The Empty Bowls fund-raiser for Clay and Cherokee County food banks has been hosted by the the John C. Campbell Folk School for the past 10 years.
