On May 3, Rep. Mark Meadows, 11th District member of Congress visited Ridgefield Farm to take a look at a farm that is implementing programs for going green with cattle and beef production. ”The great thing about being here on this farm is that they are setting the standard for farms that the rest of America should be following and we should be proud. They are creating jobs, going green with cattle for beef and more. I would encourage everyone to see what we are doing in western North Carolina and see that we are better off than the rest of the nation,” said Meadows.
Ridgefield hosted a luncheon for representatives from places like Bi-Lo, Cisco Food of Columbia, S.C. and the University of Georgia to promote the beef. Ridgefield Farm supplies beef to the Biltmore House in Asheville as well. Ridgefield Farm also works with programs through the University of Georgia that no one else uses that allows the farm to set new standards in beef and cattle production.
