
The Hayesville Elementary School parking lot looked like a major crime scene Wednesday. Officers from Clay County Sheriff’s Office were everywhere. The officers were dispatched to the school to show the children what their jobs are, the equipment they use, vehicles involved, handcuffs, tasers and fingerprinting procedures as well as 911 calling information.
It was in commemoration of National Police Appreciation week, May 14-20, designated in 1962 to give appreciation to officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
