The main dining hall of the Clay County Care Center filled with color as residents volunteered their time to fill 6,000 plastic eggs with candy Thursday.
“It gave me so much joy to be able to help the kids in the community be able to have Easter eggs to hunt. I hope that it will give the kids as much joy as it gave me stuffing them with goodies,” said Mary Jo Wimpey.
The eggs will be collected by children at the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt organized by the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
The egg hunt will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15 in the Clay County Recreation Park Campground on Myers Chapel Road.
