Clay County Communities Revitalization Association teamed up with Lowes of Murphy and the North Carolina Bluebird Society to place 24 bird houses along the Quanassee Path in Hayesville.
CCCRA member Bill Waters donated several bluebird houses he made, as did the Lions Club and local members of the N.C. Bluebird Society. Twelve bluebird houses have been placed along the Quanassee Path, but 12 more are needed to complete the project.
Project Chair Rob Tiger reported seeing bluebirds nesting in one of the houses. Each bluebird house has a name, compliments of CCCRA member Bob Hanson.
