Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies and Andrews police officers got their man on Feb. 8, when a brief standoff ended with the capture of Herman Milo Hardin Jr., whom authorities had been seeking for a month.
Authorities searched all over the county for Hardin, 51, but they ended up finding him right back where they left him at the home of a family member in Andrews.
When relatives came to the house, they discovered Hardin there, which prompted a call to police. Deputies and Andrews officers responded, and Hardin claimed to be armed and holding one hostage when they arrived.
After 20 minutes, Hardin decided to surrender peacefully, said Detective Roger Williams of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
