
On Saturday, Jan. 21, Union County Public Library hosted 35 amateur genealogists seeking answers. The Old Unicoi Trail Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was there to offer help. A genealogy workshop was conducted by the Chapter’s Registrar, Mary Ann Foster, of Blairsville.
Foster is commander, United States Navy, retired. She has documented 22 lines for her DAR membership and she is a member of numerous genealogy societies including National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons; Jamestowne Society; General Society of Mayflower Descendants; The National Huguenot Society; National Society Daughters of American Colonists; National Society of Daughters of Founders and Patriots; National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century; United Daughters of the War of 1812; and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She has assisted more than 30 local DAR Chapter daughters with their membership.
