The next monthly Small Town Main Street meeting will focus on our Historic Courthouse Preservation Project with Dianne Ward, promotions director for Tabor City, N.C. She led the restoration of their landmark building which had deteriorated to show only the marquee, three walls and no roof or floor. The project was a big challenge to the small town of less that 5,000 population in the southeastern corner of North Carolina. Ward will share how they tapped into local and regional resources to achieve their goals for restoring the building and revitalizing their historic district as the center of activities for the town and surrounding communities.
Her Power Point presentation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 in the multipurpose room of the new courthouse and continue for about an hour without the usual breakout sessions or updates for other Small Town projects.
