Private Noah Israel Rogers, 19, of Hayesville, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.
Rogers successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 86 recruits in Training Platoon 3072. While in recruit training, Rogers achieved the Platoon High Shooter with a score of 322 out of 350. Following 10 days home on leave he will report to Camp Geiger for five weeks at Military Combat Training then Military Occupation Specialty school.
Rogers will be stationed at Camp Lejeune following training.
Noah is the son of Israel and Sherry Rogers, of Hayesville. Maternal grandparents are Larry and Mary Hedden, of Hiawassee, and paternal grandparents are Eddie and Susie Graham, of Blairsville, and the late Jackie Rogers, of Hayesville. Rogers would like to thank all family and friends who have supported him.
