The Clay County Commissioners, spearheaded by Clay Logan, the Clay County Chamber, American Legion, Mayor’s office, VFW and Auxiliary, Clay County Extension, Miller Well Drilling, Clay County Soil and Water Conservatnitt Clay County Progress are asking for donations which will be taken to the flood stricken areas in eastern North Carolina.
We will be collecting specific items needed for all the flood victims. The U Haul truck donated by Charlie Shelton from Southern Auction will be parked at the square on the corner of Sanderson and Church streets across from Nichols and Nichols Law Office. Th emergnyoperaton trailer will be located at Parts Cy h .A of necessary items includes new bedding, towels, pillows, pillow cases, toothbrushes and toothpaste, tarps, bungee cords and ropes, non-perishables, peanut butter, bread, granola and energy bars, baby food and formula, diapers, pet food and s.supplies such as bleach, mops and brooms are necessary after the water recedes and the mold starts growing. Bottled water and canned food with pull tops also are needed. Due to no electricity can openers will not be available to open cans.
